GIS toolglossary

Welcome to the Neighbourhood Operations Teaching and Learning Tool. This interactive learning module consists of various lessons aimed at developing the skills necessary to assess a given scenario and apply the appropriate statistical operation. On completion of the Neighbourhood Operations learning module, students should have a strong grasp of concepts involved in Neighbourhood Operations as an aspect of raster based GIS.

There are four components to the Neighbourhood Operations interactive learning module: Specific Theory, Simple Interactive Examples, Worked Examples, and Questions with Feedback. In general, each component assumes knowedge gained from the previous component(s), particularly the Specific Theory. Thus for best results, it is suggested that students work through all components of the Neighbourhood Operations interactive learning module in sequential order, with the Questions With Feedback component attempted last. Downloading and printing the material presented in the Specific Theory component is recommended for later reference.

Please select the component of your choice to begin:

Note: Components of the interactive lessons require the Macromedia Shockwave plugin to run.
