The Research Team-UAH is composed of professors and researchers of the Geography Teaching Unit, members of the Research Group on Geographic Information Technologies and Territorial Analysis GIT-TA, with extensive experience in the GIT application to different areas of analysis, planning and territorial management and resolution of various socio-territorial problems (location of facilities, spatial modeling and simulation of urban growth, etc.).
The Research Team is also integrated on RETURBAN network (“Challenges for the cities of the 21st century”), a discussion and exchange of knowledge, experiences and methodologies forum on issues of development and management of sustainable and resilient urban space, together different Spanish university research groups (Autonomous University of Madrid, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Complutense, León, Las Palmas, Pablo Olavide Salamanca, Valencia, Zaragoza).
The UAH team will develop Subproject 1 “Geosimulation of scenarios for the elaboration of integrated strategies of sustainable urban transport and land uses”. The main objective:
- simulating the future collaborative scenarios of land use changes, using simulation models (based on cellular automata or multi-agents) and evaluating scenarios, using spatial analysis metrics (diversity, mix of uses, connectivity of green spaces, affectation of potential elements of green infrastructures, etc.) to characterize the spatial configuration of such land uses.
