Richard Hewitt; Research Officer, University of Alcalá (UAH) Richard Hewitt has ten years of research experience in diverse disciplines related to the territory, such as archaeology, geography and land planning. He is presently a PhD candidate in Geographical Information Technologies at the University of Alcalá under the supervision of Francisco Escobar, principal investigator of this project. Since the beginning of his career in archaeology he has undertaken numerous projects related to land planning and management using Geographical Information Systems. His publications, which can be consulted on his CV (link below) reflect his broad interests, from archaeological prospection using aerial photography (Gates and Hewitt 2007; Hewitt, Pallant and Radford, 2007), the development of GIS-based tools for land planning decision support(Hewitt 2007) and, in his most recent research, the impact of land use change on sustainability (Díaz and Hewitt 2010, Hewitt and Hernández-Jiménez 2010, Hewitt and Escobar 2010). Richard collaborates closely with the Observatory for a Culture of the Territory (OCT). |
